Screen name: BRAYVUH heart Biography: Ava Cole-Hearst was born to two proud parents, Justin Hearst, an advertising mogul and Kendall Cole, an adult film star. They never married, but they were never not together, either. They just were, and raised Ava in an environment that could be called a 'structured Bohemia.' She was encouraged to follow her dreams and to not be afraid of anything, including failure. She was one of the few children in pre-school that got a gold-star, even when she did something wrong. It might've had something to do with the fact that she was the only child model in her class. From an early age, Justin and Kendall had agreed that their sparkplug of a daughter had 'it.' Whatever 'it' was. She had big, blue-green eyes and an infectious giggle, making her a shoe-in for modeling campaigns. As a baby, she was the face for Gerber. Her childhood was spent in make-up chairs and on soundstages endorsing products like Campbell's Soup and Crest toothpaste. She was taken out of elementary school before the first day, and Justin had paid for home-schooling ever since. It was only because of Ava's pleading that she got to attend three months of public high-school while she was under contract with the Disney Channel. There was a break between movies and albums.. and both Cole and Hearst decided that Ava should be able to experience what it was like to be a normal teenager. She absolutely hated it and graduated while in pre-production of Across the Universe. Friends Ramona Taylor, Topher Truax and Aubrey Laine were all seen at the party- where Ava's first claim to infamy took place. The party was all fun and games at Opera in Hollywood when Ava was photographed drinking a cocktail that looked very.. not-non-alcoholic. It was splashed over tabloids and it was claimed to be the beginning of Ava's fall from "Disney Princess Grace," said Star magazine. Since the incident, Ava's been seen partying and with questionable company and substances. She still, however, maintains that she's just like any other teenager, and at nineteen, she was "taking advantage of her youth" (Vanity Fair, 2008.) Ava has never looked back since, gaining critical acclaim for her work rather than her behavior. She's the "alternative actress" of a generation, hailed one online magazine, lauding her performance as the embattled Lucy Carrigan in the Beatles musical, Across the Universe (where she subsequently met good friend Jon Straton.) Her roles have evolved from sugary sweet to angst-ridden, and it wasn't without a few bumps in the road. A few months after Ava had graduated high school, Kendall had checked herself into the Spring Mountain Treatment Center for alcoholism, putting Ava completely in the care of her inexperienced father. Ava bought her own apartment six months later, which she practically abandoned to go film Life as a House. Another nude scene was not something Justin Hearst was expecting out of his just-legal daughter. It was just recently that Ava was photographed smoking questionable substances outside a set in Burbank, California with CJ Walker. She maintains that it was a cigarette and that she's a social smoker, but blogs like Oh No They Didn't! and Perez Hilton beg to differ, claiming that she has a larger habit than she's letting on. Ava's reps haven't commented further on the issue. Among other events, Ava's most notable appearances have been in music videos both for herself (she recently won her first MTV Video Music Award for "Fly On The Wall,") and for others (like THE GLITTERATI.) Rumors about her partying habits still circulate, but she's been acting out a bit less since living on her own. She'd announced to the world that she'd adopted a cat from a local shelter, and encouraged her fans to take action for Animal Protection. She's scheduled to appear in a PETA campaign in early 2009.
