Her parents always fostered an appreciation for the arts in their children, though neither of them were particularly musical. [edit] Blackout
Anne has said she knew from a young age that music was in her soul, and is without a doubt what she was meant to do. She has never been professionally trained vocally though received lessons in guitar as a teen. All throughout secondary school Anne was in and out of numerous bands and even tried a solo act for a while. After graduation she started working at a recording studio writing and sometimes performing jingles for radio advertisements and it was while working there that she was inspired to start Blackout with her brother Harvey.
Blackout formed officially when Anne was nineteen, the two musicians banding together to create an interesting in unique sound that got them a deal with Virgin records in less than a years time. While honing their sound, Blackout toured Europe and the states extensively before hitting the studio to release their first full length studio album entitled 'We Started Nothing' in August of 2008.
The album debuted at number 1 in The U.K. and heavy radio airplay of the first two singles have brought steady sales internationally. Blackout has been on tour in support of the album since the fall of 2008 and are planning a full tour of The U.S. in the summer of 2009.
