Biography: Harvey Williamsen was born in London to Tom and Jane Williamsen, a lawyer and a theatre company director. He has one sibling (also his bandmate) Anne who is a year younger than he is. Due to the close proximity of their ages, the two were very close growing up.

Harvey was something of a child prodigy growing up, much to his little sister's envy. He began playing the piano when he was 5 and his talent and love for music snowballed from there. He branched out from the piano to the drums, then guitar and bass playing each instrument as if it were an extension of his own body. When he finished his coursework at Harridan, he was accepted into Oxford University on a music scholarship. He and his sister had at that point started their band ''Blackout'' and were playing small gigs in places like Liverpool and Manchester. By the time Harvey graduated in 2008, ''Blackout'' had released their first album on Rough Trade and were instant indie darlings of UK Radio and magazines like the NME.

Anne and Harvey have since signed with the US label RCA and are set to break onto the American music scene.
