EMBER ELAINA LAMBERT Played By: Emily Browning Voice: Martina Sorbara (Dragonette) Birthdate & Age: September 10th, 1988 Screen name: ember hill Biography: Ember grew up traveling the world, although she lived most permanently in upstate New York. However, to her the most notable places she's lived in have been Paris and Los Angeles. She'd also seen quite a bit of the world, including parts of Sweden, Egypt, Australia, and Italy by the time she was sixteen years old and far before her career and touring came up. This was due mostly to her parents' high end interior design jobs. They were hired to design all over the world and for some jobs they were required a permanent residence. Ember never really knew deep friendship or connection with anyone her own age and was home schooled for as long as she could remember. Refusing to go to college, she began writing music and playing around with various filters on a program she downloaded off the internet to record her work on. Sending out demos to random labels, not expecting to hear anything back, Ember was signed to a major record label with oddly little effort on her part. The label, however, was gearing up to make the then seventeen year old into another mindless popstar and refused to allow her to use her own lyrics and beats. They also briefly converted her 'image', having her hair dyed blonde and convincing her for a short period that she had to comply with their strict terms or she'd be dropped. Eventually, Ember got in contact with some higher ups at another label and after threatening to go to a courtroom over what her rights exactly were with her former label she was dropped immediately and then picked up by the new one. Here she was able to create her own music, which was much more real. There was also no need for the label to play with her image, and Ember even designed her cover artwork partially and much of her merchandise. Her singles off of her debut album created much buzz, way more than a few of the leaked demos that had come during her work on her former label. She began touring extensively across the U.S., but became more of a hit overseas in the UK and Europe where she is currently touring. Credits: Misc.
