![]() Q & A with Ed Lynch I have a confession to make. I am completely and utterly, one hundred per cent addicted to Heroes. And I don't think I'm the only one. Over the past two years Heroes-mania has swept the globe, it's catchy tagline "Save the cheerleader, save the world" being heard everywhere from Germany to Hiro Nakamura's native Japan. With the premier of the third season being one of the most highly anticipated television episodes ever, I was over the moon when none other than Ed Lynch (Peter Petrelli himself) agreed to answer a few questions. Arriving punctually, the 29 year old actor greeted me with a friendly grin and a warm hug. Dressed casually in a pair of worn Levis and a Sex Pistols t-shirt he doesn't exactly scream sex symbol but there is something undeniably appealing about the Los Angeles native. There's been a lot of talk about big changes in this new series of Heroes, what can you tell us? [laughs] Not a lot actually. I can tell you that Peter isn't quite going to be himself this season. You're going to get to see a new side...I'm not sure if that's really the right word but anyway, you'll get to see him in situations you've not seen before and it's going to be really interesting. What about the rest of the characters? Will there be any exits or entrances? Like I said, I can't say a whole lot but, as with every season thus far, there's going to be a little of both. There will be a few new interesting characters revealed and Tim [creator] has hinted that, in this season, if you're dead then you're dead. That's all we're going to get from you, isn't it? [laughs] Yeah, sorry! You'll just have to watch like everybody else. Fine, moving on - if you could have any superpower what would it be? I don't know. There are so many cool powers on the show that if I had to pick just one I think I'd be like a kid in a candy shop. Claire's is probably the most useful but it definitely has it's drawbacks and honestly, I think the flying's a little cheesy so I'd have to go for the power of persuasion. No, seriously, just imagine how awesome that would be - you could persuade anybody to do anything you wanted. Talking of Claire. Any truth to the rumors about you and Chloe [Samford, who plays Claire]? You know, that's just one of those questions you guys love to ask. Just because we're on a show together- Well, this is the second show you've been in together and you've co-starred in two movies. This is the only time you're not playing love interests, though. [laughs] Wow, you've really done your research haven't you? Yeah, Chloe and I have worked together a fair few times. We started making the same sort of movies around the same time so it was sort of inevitable that we were going to end up cast against one another at various points. What about the other woman in your life then? [sighs] Kady? [O'Brien, the singer/actress]. Kady's my best friend and she's like the sister I never had or wanted. She's a great girl and we get along spectacularly - she's one of the few people who doesn't get pissed with me for constantly pulling practical jokes. Hell, she practically encourages me. The press tend to get a little wrapped up in that and are always printing rubbish about the two of us shacking up or whatever. I mean, they took set photos of the two of us from last season and splashed them all over the front of the National Enquirer, claiming we were a couple. [laughs] It's just ridiculous sometimes. So you're single then? I am indeed. I think I just heard women everywhere cheering. [laughs] Okay, back to business then. Aside from Heroes, have you got anything interesting coming up? As a matter of fact I do. I'm currently in pre-production for a movie called The Mummy opposite Genavive Harlem. The Mummy? As in the Egyptian-type? Yes! It's set in the Egypt in the 20s and I play an American serving as an officer in the French Foreign Legion. There will be a mummy on the loose and let me just tell you, he isn't exactly going to be very friendly. [laughs] Sounds interesting, so is that going to be a big action flick then? Hell yes, I've a ton of different stunts and stuff I get to do and I'm totally excited about it all. Honestly, I'm like a little kid! |
