Won't It Lead To Legalizing Marriages
With Children Or Animals?

A common response to the legalization of Civil Same-Sex Marriage is that it will lead to people marrying children or animals. This is laughable on its face since marriage is a legal contract and children and animals are prohibited from entering into legal contracts. If you have doubts, ask yourself where in the world, amongst all of the liberal countries that allow Civil Same-Sex Marriage, are children and animals allowed to enter into a marriage agreement? Some cultures do allow minors to be married off, but those same cultures also believe that homosexuality is a capital crime. There are simply no connections between the two. This assertion is simply a scare tactic with no legal or logical basis.

It, like the extremist claims of anti-Mormons, is designed to shed more heat than light in the debate and those raising it are unfortunately often intent on keeping the debate on an emotional basis of fear, like the antis, rather than on a logical one allowing for rational discussions and conclusions.
