About me Q&A

Q: How long have you been learning Chinese language?
A: Ever since I was born.

Q: Is self-study really possible?
A: It really depends on the individual as well as the surroundings. People who
say self-study is possible for everyone ain't totally correct and so are those
who say self-study is totally impossible. However, it is also true that you
won't have anyone correcting your mistakes if you are studying on your own,
and the act of making mistakes is existent in everything. As for the surroundings,
if you do not get any chance to speak the language everyday, you will just
gradually forget it even if you once knew it. Due to all this, I would recommend
anyone to look for an authentic school and take up courses if you have the ability
and resources to. For those who don't but still wish to learn it, go ahead. You
never know what you are capable of and you never know when the things that you
learnt through self-study may prove to be beneficial in the future should you
ever manage to locate a school to study at.

Q: What did you use to create these pages?
A: From the format, you could guess it. Yep, Notepad and very simple html in
Unicode format limited to a 84 margin(with special exceptions). Hopefully this
will keep loading times low, do change the text size to enlarge the character
size if deemed necessary. If you cannot view the characters on your browser, a
good site to visit would be Unicode info and check out the instructions to enable
Unicode viewing for your browser.

Q: Regarding use of the files on your site?
A: All files on this site belong to me, please contact me if you wish to use
them for any other purpose apart from your personal language learning.

Q: What about the audio files format?
A: In WMA format. Some are .zip files which requires WINRAR to open.
