OH NO THEY DIDN'T.

ONTD - Oh No They Didn't!

Last night, Per diem played their tenth show of their three-month comeback tour at Scout Bar in San Antonio, and I was just so lucky to be able to get tickets on time. The place was PACKED, like wall-to-wall sardines or some shit. I'd only had the opportunity to see Per diem in concert once before, but it was right around the time Leo quit the band so you could tell that tensions were high and everything was all screwed up. But last night was incredible! They played everything, not just their new stuff, and they limited it. Leo even managed to perform an acoustic version of "Like A Stone", and it was so gorgeous and sad.

Of course, it wouldn't be a Per diem show without some drama & fuckery. Apparently some d-bag threw a bag of empty syringes (without needles guys, no worries) up and hit Leo in the chest right before "Like Suicide". There had to be about forty plastic syringes all over the stage, and while the crowd started flipping out, Leo BENT DOWN AND LAUGHED AND STARTED PICKING THEM UP. He shoved them into his pockets, and even pulled one out to stick behind his right ear. I caught some of it on tape and if you listen closely, you can hear Leo addressing it, "Perfect motherfucking timing...I gotta hand it to you, dickwad, I was getting all scratchy up here without my drugs. Thanks for the generous gift, now get the fuck out!" He laughs a bit more and start the song, lighting up a cigarette and stalking around the stage, introducing it by saying something like, "I didn't write this song for this bitch I'm about to dedicate it to, but good fucking god, does she deserve it. Being next to her makes you want to jump off a fucking cliff...." He trailed off and played the rest of the show, finishing up with another dedication of "Black Hole Sun", but this time it wasn't so cryptic, "I ruined this song for Bit Rawn. [laughs] She tells me this shit every time I fucking talk to her. "

I posted a few videos of the concert here but they're not in good quality.
