BY ELEANOR CASTOR  ONE That sexy British accent is the real thing. Hale was actually born and raised in Liverpool, England. She actually didn't move to America until she graduated from college (having attended the University of London) and wanted to make her entrance into Hollywood, knowing her movies would have more of a chance to be made there. TWO She was raised in a family of actors. While growing up, Hale's father was part of a local theatre troop in England, and her mother caught drama classes at a nearby high school- actually not the one that Hale attended if you were wondering. Hale has been known to say that if it weren't for her parents, she probably wouldn't have gotten into the movie industry. It was her acting early on that introduced her to the behind the scenes aspects as well, where she would end up spending most of her time. She has said that they would give her small parts in plays, allowing her to act even at the youngest of ages. I for one would love to see a young Elisha Hale gracing the stage. THREE She has a tendency of playing women who could kick your ass without even a second thought. Whenever Hale does act, it seems that her characters are always of the "femme fatale" variety. She played the prostitute and dominatrix, Gail, in the film Sin City, in which she also featured as a special guest director. Next she played the sexy video game adventurer, Lara Croft, in Tomb Raider and its sequel The Cradle of Life. Perhaps most popular lately would be her portrayal of the insane and often volatile Bellatrix Lestrange in the fifth and soon to come sixth movies in the Harry Potter series. Seriously, I know this is all just acting, but I definitely wouldn't mess with her. FOUR Her films are almost always cult classics. When Hale writes a movie, one can be sure that it will have a cult following. Ever since Reservoir Dogs, it seems that she's put out movie after movie of classic status. You can tell a movie is Hale's by the deeply conflicted or eccentric characters, psychological twists, and dark plots. They're what we've all come to love over the years, and I have to admit I might be a bit addicted. I don't even think it's possible to decide on a favorite of her films. There's Pulp Fiction, the oscar-winning masterpiece and undeniable favorite of many, the deranged and yet entertaining vampire flick, From Dusk Till Dawn, and of course there is Kill Bill Volumes 1 and 2.  FIVE She's not afraid to spice things up in the bedroom. Hale has been quotes as calling herself a very "sexual person" who is willing to do just about anything with a person she trusts. According to several popular rumors, she is not afraid to talk dirty, use toys, or even roleplay while in the sack. I know, I know, try to contain yourselves, guys.SIX She is currently single, but says she isn't looking. After her recent and very public divorce from famous actor, [yet to be named], it seems that everyone wants to know what is to come for Hale's love life. But she isn't exactly eager to share. There have been rumors that once upon a time Hale had an affair with also married Firefly and Ironman star James Somervaille, who has also frequently played a role in many of her movies, that she never confirmed nor denied. More recently there were rumors that she'd been seen out canoodling with another woman. I think it's safe to say that people are getting desperate to figure out the director/actress' personal life, and that they're not going to stop until they know what caused the sudden divorce, or who. SEVEN She won't be disappearing into obscurity any time soon. That's right. You'll be seeing a lot more of Elisha Hale in the future, between her upcoming work titled Natural Born Killers and the reprisal of her role as Bellatrix Lestrange in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. I for one cannot wait. |
