thatcher sullivan fan encounter

Just saw Thatcher Sullivan perform live in Vancouver and he was fabulous. It wasn't just the music (that was good too) but he was really sociable and on. It was sort of strange. He was talking to the audience and cracking jokes and actually showing he has a personality. I didn't know Thatcher had a personality, did you? When played Princess he went off on this tangent : "This is a song about a girl who is not particularly cool. But I like it when people put it in their myspace page like it's a positive song. This is a song called Princess. This is a song about a wanton... wanton... not the chinese food, soup, wanton is like loose, loose and I mean that like skanky. There's a good one. That'll work. A song about a skanky lady. Not unclean...just sort of rode hard put away with. It's just a fact! I mean it's not about you guys. What the fuck are you worrying about? It could be a guy too... I mean a guy could be rode hard too... I have got to stop talking." He was taking requests and everything. Someone shouted for Kelly Clarkson (I actually think it was Juliet Evans) and he started playing Since You've Been Gone and seriously too. A few of his castmates were there but he didn't only pay attention to them, he even mingled afterwards and talked to his fans and was really gracious. He stayed until everyone who wanted a picture or an autograph got one and it was like an hour line to get through but he was patient. I can't wait to see New Moon!
