Biography: From a young age, Jayson Egolf was always into everything. He had plenty of energy to burn at any hour of the day or night, leaving his parents and babysitters ultimately exhausted. He was enrolled in footy at a young age playing for South Augusta. He enjoyed the sport massively and Jayson even went on to advance in the ranks higher and higher until he was on the verge of being put into the draft for the Australian Football League which was definitely a dream of his. Just shy of 17, however, Jay suffered an injury that took him from the sport forever. He'd shattered his ankle and broken his tibia in one good blow on the field. His injuries resulted in surgery leaving the boy with three pins in his ankle and several months of recovery time. Even though he swore he'd get back into footy, continuing to work out as much as he could each day, he knew deep down his career was over.

Jayson had been playing guitar from the age of 11 onward, when his sister had gotten a violin for Christmas and he demanded something to make noise with too! Whenever he wasn't playing football Jay was playing his guitar and became at least decent for awhile. He'd dropped the instrument by the wayside when he thought he was going to get drafted but picked it up again when he had nothing to do but sit on his ass and recuperate. It got to the point where Jayson didn't want to be in Australia anymore; he was just constantly reminded of footy and the fact he'd been so close, yet now was so far away. His grandmother had passed on when he was 14 and had left him a sum of money that had been put into a savings account for him. Jay got the ridiculous idea that he was going to go to Los Angeles to start a band and once he'd been convinced he could do it, by himself obviously, he couldn't be talked out of it. His family hadn't really been behind it but shortly after he was 18, Jayson bid adieu to Australia.

He'd taken the gamble of meeting up with some people he'd chatted with on the internet for awhile, and luckily enough they were cool and he didn't get himself murdered in the first week there. He'd known no one else, though. Jay soon began scouring for a band either to join or musicians that wanted to put something together. He and a group of boys eventually bonded, all of them between legal adulthood and legal drinking age in America, and Curses for Lovers was born.
