The virtual user group for IMS professionals
Virtual IMS Connection is a vendor-neutral, independently-operated, virtual user group for IMS (IBM's Information Management System) professionals. It can be found at www.virtualims.com. It was launched at the beginning of November 2007.
Virtual user group meetings take place every other month. Scheduled future meetings include:
On the 7th October BMC's Nick Griffin will look at autonomics for your IMS databases.
On the 2nd December, an IBMer will be talking about IMS and Web 2.0.
The user group meetings last a little over an hour in total. Participation in meetings is free to members. You can join the Virtual IMS Connection user group by clicking here to "sign up".
User group members also get a bi-monthly newsletter. Click here to download the most recent issue.
Click here to view the latest Updates to the Web site.
The Web site contains details of future meetings, information about IMS-related articles and events, a list of IMS tools, and services, and a job bank.
Vendors may want to ensure that their latest products are listed on the IMS Tools page (free listing for vendors).
An article about the Virtual IMS Connection user group and Web site was published in the IBM IMS newsletter 0801.
There are now a number of opportunities for vendors to advertise on the Virtual IMS Connection Web site to reach an audience of IMS professionals. For more details, click here.
