Named after a character from her favorite book, the baby boy was the apple of his young mothers eye. Born in sunny SoCal, Alex was primarily raised by his grandparents; two people who have heavily influenced the life of this young talent. Just before he was to enter elementry school, Cara moved cross country to be with her New York based soon to be husband, opting to leave Alex with her parents until she had a home set up for her son. Months turned to years and soon it was clear Cara would not be returning, not even for the child she had once loved so very much. Leaving the baby with his grandparents might have been what some choose to call a blessing in disguise. Residing in the small town of Arcadia, Alex attended school in neighboring Pasadena where he quickly developed an interest in music. Some say the child was a prodigy; able to play by ear and mimic his teachers effortlessly. His grandmother, a classically trained pianist, took note of his rare talent early on and did everything in her power to ensure his young, fickle mind remained stimulated by that which had initially sparked so much interest. While his academics took a backseat to his muscial pursuits, Alex found himself leaving audiences awestruck at the tender age of 8 when he played his first concert. Throughout the course of his schooling, he attended after school classes to learn the art of playing guitar, drums, cello and violin. A bright boy, each new instrument he touched he quickly picked up, instantly adding it to his growing resume. Living on the outskirts of Los Angeles provided a teenage Alex with a most perfect playground. Cutting class for impromptu shows on infamous street corners, weekends spent surfing and camping along the coast, memorable summer nights gone by hopping from venue to venue down the notorious Sunset Strip. At fifteen Alex hit his first milestone when his name appeared in lights upon the marquee of the trendy Whisky A Go Go. It was a short set comprised of nothing more then a handful of acoustic songs he'd penned after submitting a basement style recording into a contest the club was holding. A battle of the bands followed, catapulting the teen into overdrive. Alex began writing furiously, filling notebook after notebook with clever lines and infectious hooks. Music became his life. Withdrawing from school just two credits shy of graduating, Alex hit the road in a beat up Nissan his grandparents had given him as an early graduation present. He spent nearly two years wandering and writing, mastering his craft as he worked his way from city to city. A restless soul, his attention was never satiated by the cities he found himself in; either too small, too big or just too boring. Twenty one when he returned home, Alex met Phoebe Hollingsworth at the home of a mutual friend. The two hit it off instantly, the four year age difference between the two sparking more concern from outsiders than anyone. The romance carried on for close to two years, but Alex called it quits just after celebrating Phoebe's fantastic 19th. Rumors swirled as reasons why the promising couple who had been so affectionate just days prior to their breakup ranged from Alex's insecurities to Phoebe's wandering eyes. Despite all the gossip that spread like wild fire, the two remain close friends to date and are often seen together when both parties are in Los Angeles. A fixture on the indie Hollywood scene for sometime now, Alex got his big break after playing a gig at The Roxy, one attened by Brandon Ebel. Almost instantly signed to Ebel's label, Alex was soon making the studio a second home while putting together a debut album. With friends jumping on board the unnamed project, The Social Club of Sounds was formed. Recorded over the course of three months, the self-titled album debuted to both critical and fan acclaim. With an upcoming tour for 2009 in the works, Alex is currently traveling the west coast with the gang playing a series of shows.
